Meeting an Immediate Need With Dignity

Food insecurity is often invisible. Behind it are families making difficult choices, widows managing households with limited resources, and patient attendants spending long hours outside hospitals while worrying about more than just their loved ones.

Our Food Assistance & Community Nutrition initiative focuses on one of the most fundamental forms of support: ensuring that people have access to a nourishing meal when they need it most.

Everyday Access to Food

As part of the GHMC's Feed the Need project, we provide approximately 10โ€“15 meals every day to the community refrigerator located on Road No. 12 in Banjara Hills.

The initiative provides a simple but meaningful way for people in need to access food with dignity, without the barriers or stigma that can accompany asking for assistance.

Supporting Families During Ramadan

Every Ramadan, we also organise the distribution of food grains to underprivileged families and widows, working in partnership with Women's Empowerment, an NGO committed to supporting communities in need.

These distributions are designed to provide families with essential provisions during a significant period of the year, helping ease some of the financial pressure associated with putting food on the table.

Food Drives for Hospital Communities

Our food assistance efforts also extend to hospitals, where we have conducted multiple food drives outside government and other hospitals.

These drives are particularly focused on patient attendants and family members who may spend hours โ€” sometimes days โ€” waiting outside while their loved ones receive treatment. In moments of uncertainty and stress, access to a simple meal can provide a small but meaningful measure of comfort.

Whether it is a meal placed in a community refrigerator, essential groceries delivered to a family, or food shared with someone waiting outside a hospital, every effort is rooted in the same belief:

No one should have to face a difficult day on an empty stomach.
