About Us

It Started With
A Belief.

We grew up believing that success means little if it serves only ourselves. That belief became the foundation of everything we do.

Our Story

A Greater Purpose was born from a belief instilled in us since childhood: that success means little unless it is used to make someone elseโ€™s life better. Raised by parents who taught us the values of gratitude, compassion, and empathy, we grew up believing that our greatest privilege was not simply what we had, but what we could do for others.

The COVID-19 pandemic transformed this belief into action. Witnessing countless families struggle for basic medical assistance, hospital transport, and dignified last rites, we realised that compassion must extend beyond words. It was at this time that โ€˜A Greater Purposeโ€™ first emerged modestly in the form of an ambulance and a funeral van service. In months that followed, paths opened for support of the destitute through food distribution, supply of PPE kits, health awareness programs, medical camps and educational mentorship.

Founded by two siblings and supported by our parents, A Greater Purpose has since grown into a community of volunteers united by a shared desire to make a difference.

It is said, โ€˜Maybe we canโ€™t help everyone but everyone can help someone.โ€™ Serving a meal, donating a book, counselling a confused student, taking a frightened child to a hospital may seem so trivial but bring a colossal change in everyone connected to the act. This is how โ€˜A Greater Purposeโ€™ has grown and this has been the most rewarding part of the journey

Our Purpose

Why "A Greater Purpose"

Opportunity &
Equality for All

We believe every one of us can live for something beyond ourselves.

  • Live with Empathy

  • Serve with intention

  • Use what we have to uplift others

  • Leave the world a little better than we found it

That, to us, is A Greater Purpose.

"Do not look the other way. Do not hesitate. Recognise that the world is hungry for action, not words."
